Vodafone voicemail lives on the short code 121, and it's enabled by default on most plans. The menu is refreshingly simple — 2 for messages, 3 for your personal greeting, 4 for mailbox settings. Here's how to set everything up, from first call to a polished professional greeting.
Call 121 or press and hold the 1 key. The call is free on all Vodafone tariffs. If voicemail has never been set up, the prompts guide you through recording a greeting and choosing a security PIN.
You'll need a PIN to check messages from another phone or from abroad, so set one straight away: from the menu choose option 4 (mailbox settings), then 2 (security), and follow the prompts.
From the 121 menu, select option 3 — personal greeting. Record your message after the tone, listen back, and confirm to save.
Call your Vodafone number from another phone and let it ring out. You should hear your new greeting. If the phone rings too long or too briefly first, adjust the ring time (see below).
To change an existing greeting, dial 121 and choose option 3 again — the new recording replaces the old one as soon as you confirm. iPhone users with Visual Voicemail can also change the greeting directly in the Phone app under Voicemail → Greeting.
From another phone or abroad, dial +44 7836 121121 and enter your PIN (set it before you travel). Alternatively, call your own Vodafone number and press * when your greeting starts, then enter your PIN.
Dial 1210 to cancel voicemail and 1211 to set it back up. To control how long your phone rings before voicemail answers, dial **61*121*11*30# — replace 30 with any of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds. ##002# cancels all diverts in one go.
