Three's voicemail runs on 123 and activates automatically when you switch on a new phone. The first call walks you through a compulsory setup — PIN, spoken name, and a greeting — so it pays to have a script ready before you dial. Here's the full process, including what Three does differently from other UK networks.
Call 123 or press and hold the 1 key. If voicemail hasn't been activated yet, the setup wizard starts automatically.
Enter a new PIN of 4–10 digits and press #, then confirm it and press # again. You'll need this PIN to check messages from another phone or from abroad.
Three asks you to record your name, which identifies you to other voicemail users. Say it clearly and press #, then press 1 to continue (or 3 to re-record). Note: once a name is recorded, Three has no official way back to the fully anonymous default greeting — so record something you're happy with.
Finally, record the message callers hear when they reach your mailbox. Press # when finished, then 1 to keep it, 2 to listen back, or 3 to re-record.
To change your greeting later, dial 123 and choose option 3 — greeting settings. Record the new version and confirm. To change your PIN: dial 123, then option 4, option 2, option 1, enter the new PIN and press #.
From any other UK phone, dial 07782 333123; from abroad, dial +44 7782 333123. Enter your Three number and PIN when prompted, then press 2 to access your voicemail. You can also call your own number and press * during the greeting.
Voicemail is on by default. To stop calls diverting to voicemail, dial ##002# and press call — this cancels all diverts. To check where calls currently divert, dial *#004#. If voicemail was disabled and you want it back, re-enable it through the Three app or by contacting Three on 333.
Three records greetings through the handset, so there's no upload button — but there's a reliable workaround used by thousands of businesses:

Dial 123 from your Three mobile and choose option 3 for greeting settings. Record the new greeting, press # to finish, and press 1 to confirm — it replaces the old one immediately.
Not fully. Once you've recorded a name during first-time setup, Three has no official option to restore the anonymous network greeting. You can, however, re-record your greeting and name as often as you like via 123, option 3.
Three has no direct upload option. The workaround: dial 123, start recording your greeting, and play a professionally produced MP3 from a second device held close to your phone's microphone. Phone-line compression makes a well-mastered file captured this way sound virtually identical to a direct upload.
Dial +44 7782 333123, enter your Three phone number and voicemail PIN, then press 2 to access your mailbox. Set your PIN via 123 before you travel — you can't access voicemail remotely without it.
